When I think of you and me and what we shared, I know it would be easy for others to dismiss our time together as simply a by-product of the days and nights we spent by the sea, a “fling” that, in the long run, would mean absolutely nothing. Thats why I don’t tell people about us. They wouldn’t understand, and I don’t feel the need to explain, simply becasue I know in my heart how real it was… how real this is. When I think of you I cant help smiling, knowing that you’ve completed me somehow. I love you, not just for now, but for always, and I dream of the day that you’ll take me in your arms again.
It was foggy and the taxi driver could hardly see, when he suddenly stopped with a jolt in the middle of the street. He turned around to Chuck. “We arrived, Miss.” he said with a low voice. Chuck took a deep breath and could smell the dreadful scent of something dying in the taxi. It was not her best taxi choice. But this wouldn’t matter anymore, now she was hoem again. She stepped outside into the rainy Chigaco 2002. Chuck was coming home from her Aunty, who also lived in Chicago. But it was a bit far away from their house, so she went with a taxi. Chuck always spent half of the Chistmas Holidays with the sister of her mother.
She grabbed her bag from the back of the car, then she crossed the wet streets, which were covered in something that looked like it had been snow before, but now it wa sjust mush.
She reached their door and knocked twice. No answer. She waited a few more seconds before she knocked again, but this time with a lot more force. Then she heared footsteps walking towards her. The door opened and her mother stood in front of her. Her face was flushed and she could hardly breath. With a gasp her mother kneeled down and embraced Chuck tightly. Her heavy breath against her ears and her wet face against her cheeks. “Hello darling, welcome home!” Her mother said, gasping between the words. Then she walked Chuck inside and closed the door. Chuck could feel her heart skip some beats as she knew that something horrible must have happened. “Mum, what happened? Oh god, you’re a mess!” She said with a shaky voice, close to cry herself. Her mother took her to the living room, and sat her down on the couch. Then she sat next to her herself. She turned to Chuck, taking some dee breaths, trying to collect herself, to speak.
“Charlize, my baby… listen. Something has happened. You have to be strong now…..” She said slowly, tears rolled down her face. Chuck could feel a cold shiver run down her spine as she waited for what her mother would say.
“Chuck… you’re father. He…he had an accident on his way back from work tonight.” She said. Chuck jumped from the couch with wide open eyes. “Then we have to help him! Quick!” She claimed. Her mother took her hand and shook her head. “He… he didn’t make it, darling. He’s dead.” Her mother said with a shivering voice. Chuck’s heart almost stopped beating as she felt a huge wave of horror hitting her. She just stood there for a while, to shocked to realise what her mother had just said. Her mother started to worry when Chuck freezed. She shook her. “Chuck, say something!” Her mother said. But Chuck remained silent. Suddenly her eyes got red and filled with tears, which then finally rolled down her face like a water fall. She gasped and fell on her knees.

Well, it’s home for most of us.
